The Power BI Internship introduces participants to the complete Power BI ecosystem. Starting with data connections and transformations, interns progress to creating advanced visualizations, DAX measures, and enterprise dashboards. The program emphasizes practical projects, preparing interns for BI analyst roles.

  • What is Business Intelligence (BI)?
  • Overview of Power BI ecosystem (Desktop, Service, Mobile)
  • Installing & Navigating Power BI Desktop
  • Connecting to data sources (Excel, CSV, SQL)
  • Introduction to Power Query Editor

Outcome: Navigate Power BI confidently and connect raw data sources.

 

Data Transformation & Modeling

  • Data cleaning with Power Query
  • Creating calculated columns
  • Understanding relationships (one-to-many, many-to-many)
  • Star vs. Snowflake schema in BI
  • Data model optimization

Outcome: Build structured and clean data models for analysis.

DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) Fundamentals

  • Introduction to DAX
  • Calculated columns vs. measures
  • Basic DAX functions (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT)
  • Time intelligence functions (YTD, MTD, QTD)
  • Logical & conditional DAX functions

Outcome: Perform advanced calculations using DAX.

Visualization & Dashboard Design

  • Power BI Visuals: charts, maps, KPIs, slicers
  • Formatting and customization of visuals
  • Drill-through and drill-down functionalities
  • Designing interactive and user-friendly dashboards
  • Storytelling with data for better decision-making
